COMMISSION DECISION of 24 November 1983 temporarily suspending the status of certain parts of the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany with regard to classical swine fever (83/593/EEC) THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, Having regard to Council Directive 72/461/EEC of 12 December 1972 on health problems affecting intra-Community trade in fresh meat (1), as last amended by Directive 82/893/EEC (2), and in particular Article 13a (2) thereof, Whereas Council Decision 82/838/EEC (3) recognizes certain parts of the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany as being either officially swine-fever-free or swine-fever-free; Whereas outbreaks of classical swine fever have been recorded in some of the parts of the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany referred to in Annex II to Decision 82/838/EEC; Whereas, therefore, the status of the affected parts of the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany with regard to classical swine fever should be temporarily suspended, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
