Council Decision (EU) 2021/42 of 19 January 2021 appointing a member of the Court of Auditors THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Article 286(5) thereof, Having regard to the proposal by the Republic of Poland, Having regard to the opinion of the European Parliament Opinion of 15 December 2020 (not yet published in the Official Journal). , Whereas: (1) By means of Council Decision (EU, Euratom) 2016/640 Council Decision (EU, Euratom) 2016/640 of 21 April 2016 appointing five members of the Court of Auditors (OJ L 108, 23.4.2016, p. 32.). , Mr Janusz WOJCIECHOWSKI was appointed member of the Court of Auditors for the period from 7 May 2016 to 6 May 2022. (2) By letter of 27 November 2019, Mr Janusz WOJCIECHOWSKI presented his resignation as member of the Court of Auditors with effect from 30 November 2019. (3) Following the resignation of Mr Janusz WOJCIECHOWSKI, it is necessary for a new member to be appointed for the remainder of his term of office. (4) The Republic of Poland has proposed the appointment of Mr Marek OPIOŁA as a member of the Court of Auditors for the period from 1 February 2021 to 6 May 2022, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Mr Marek OPIOŁA is hereby appointed member of the Court of Auditors for the period from 1 February 2021 to 6 May 2022.

Article 2
