Political and Security Committee Decision (CFSP) 2024/431 of 25 January 2024 extending the mandate of the Head of Mission of the European Union CSDP mission in Mali (EUCAP Sahel Mali) (EUCAP Sahel Mali/1/2024) THE POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular the third paragraph of Article 38 thereof, Having regard to Council Decision 2014/219/CFSP of 15 April 2014 on the European Union CSDP mission in Mali (EUCAP Sahel Mali) OJ L 113, 16.4.2014, p. 21. , and in particular Article 7(1) thereof, Whereas: (1) Pursuant to Decision 2014/219/CFSP, the Political and Security Committee (PSC) is authorised, in accordance with the third paragraph of Article 38 of the Treaty, to take the relevant decisions for the purpose of exercising the political control and strategic direction of the European Union CSDP mission in Mali (EUCAP Sahel Mali), including the decision to appoint a Head of Mission upon a proposal of the High Representative for the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy (the High Representative). (2) On 10 January 2023, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/96 Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/96 of 10 January 2023 amending Decision 2014/219/CFSP on the European Union CSDP Mission in Mali (EUCAP Sahel Mali) (OJ L 8, 11.1.2023, p. 2). amending Decision 2014/219/CFSP and extending the mandate of EUCAP Sahel Mali until 31 January 2025. (3) On 14 March 2023, the PSC adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/613 Political and Security Committee Decision (CFSP) 2023/613 of 14 March 2023 on the appointment of the Head of Mission of the European Union CSDP mission in Mali (EUCAP Sahel Mali) (EUCAP Sahel Mali/1/2023) (OJ L 80, 20.3.2023, p. 91). appointing Mr Peter KOLDING as Head of Mission of EUCAP Sahel Mali from 11 April 2023 until 31 January 2024. (4) On 20 December 2023, the High Representative proposed that the mandate of Mr Peter KOLDING as Head of Mission of EUCAP Sahel Mali be extended from 1 February 2024 to 31 January 2025, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The mandate of Mr Peter KOLDING as Head of Mission of the European Union CSDP mission in Mali (EUCAP Sahel Mali) is hereby extended from 1 February 2024 to 31 January 2025.

Article 2
