Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/1251 of 25 April 2024 granting derogations to certain Member States regarding the transmission of statistics under Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the European system of national and regional accounts (notified under document C(2024) 2534) (Only the Bulgarian, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Irish, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak and Swedish texts are authentic) THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, Having regard to Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union OJ L 174, 26.6.2013, p. 1, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2013/549/oj. , and in particular Article 6(1) thereof, Whereas: (1) In line with Article 6(1) of Regulation (EU) No 549/2013, the Commission is to grant temporary derogations to Member States, in so far as national statistical systems necessitate major adaptations to apply the new statistical requirements introduced by that Regulation. Derogations are to be granted on duly justified grounds, for a maximum duration of 3 years. (2) Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden have submitted requests to be granted temporary derogations, pursuant to Article 6(3) of Regulation (EU) No 549/2013, in order to comply with the new statistical requirements under that Regulation introduced by Regulation (EU) 2023/734 of the European Parliament and of the Council Regulation (EU) 2023/734 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 March 2023 amending Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union and repealing 11 legal acts in the field of national accounts (OJ L 97, 5.4.2023, p. 1, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2023/734/oj). . (3) In accordance with the information provided in those requests the Commission considers that major adaptations to the national statistical systems of the Member States concerned are necessary. The derogations envisaged by Article 6(1) of Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 are therefore justified and should be granted to Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden. (4) The measures provided for in this Decision are in line with the opinion of the European Statistical System Committee, established by Article 7 of Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2009 on European statistics and repealing Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 1101/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the transmission of data subject to statistical confidentiality to the Statistical Office of the European Communities, Council Regulation (EC) No 322/97 on Community Statistics, and Council Decision 89/382/EEC, Euratom establishing a Committee on the Statistical Programmes of the European Communities (OJ L 87, 31.3.2009, p. 164, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2009/223/oj).

Article 1

The derogations from Regulation (EC) No 549/2013 set out in the Annex to this Decision shall be granted to the Member States listed therein.

This Decision is addressed to the Republic of Bulgaria, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Federal Republic of Germany, Ireland, the Hellenic Republic, the Republic of Croatia, the Italian Republic, the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Lithuania, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Poland, the Portuguese Republic, Romania, the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Finland, and the Kingdom of Sweden.
