Commission Decision (EU) 2024/2099 of 31 July 2024 confirming the participation of Ireland in Regulation (EU) 2024/1347 of the European Parliament and of the Council on standards for the qualification of third-country nationals or stateless persons as beneficiaries of international protection, for a uniform status for refugees or for persons eligible for subsidiary protection and for the content of the protection granted THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, Having regard to Protocol No 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Article 4 thereof, Having regard to the notification by Ireland of its wish to accept and be bound by the Regulation (EU) 2024/1347 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 May 2024 on standards for the qualification of third-country nationals or stateless persons as beneficiaries of international protection, for a uniform status for refugees or for persons eligible for subsidiary protection and for the content of the protection granted, amending Council Directive 2003/109/EC and repealing Directive 2011/95/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council OJ L, 2024/1347, 22.5.2024, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2024/1347/oj. . Whereas: (1) Regulation (EU) 2024/1347 was adopted on 14 May 2024 and entered into force on 11 June 2024. Its provisions are to apply from 1 July 2026. (2) By letter of 27 June 2024, Ireland notified its wish to accept and be bound by Regulation (EU) 2024/1347. (3) The participation of Ireland in Regulation (EU) 2024/1347 should therefore be confirmed. (4) Since Ireland does not participate in Council Directive 2003/109/EC Council Directive 2003/109/EC of 25 November 2003 concerning the status of third-country nationals who are long-term residents (OJ L 16, 23.1.2004, p. 44, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dir/2003/109/oj. , it should not be bound by the provision in Regulation (EU) 2024/1347 amending that Directive. (5) There are no specific conditions attached to the participation of Ireland in Regulation (EU) 2024/1347 and no transitional measures are necessary, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The participation of Ireland in Regulation (EU) 2024/1347 is confirmed.

Article 2
