Council Decision (EU) 2024/2541 of 23 September 2024 amending Decision 2009/908/EU laying down measures for the implementation of the European Council Decision on the exercise of the Presidency of the Council, and on the chairmanship of preparatory bodies of the Council THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, Having regard to European Council Decision 2009/881/EU of 1 December 2009 on the exercise of the Presidency of the Council OJ L 315, 2.12.2009, p. 50. , and in particular Article 4 thereof, Whereas: (1) By Decision 2009/908/EU Council Decision 2009/908/EU of 1 December 2009 laying down measures for the implementation of the European Council Decision on the exercise of the Presidency of the Council, and on the chairmanship of preparatory bodies of the Council (OJ L 322, 9.12.2009, p. 28). the Council laid down measures for the implementation of Decision 2009/881/EU. The chairmanship of the preparatory bodies of the Foreign Affairs Council is organised in Annex II to Decision 2009/908/EU. (2) On 17 July 2024, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the governments of the Member States approved, in accordance with the Council’s Rules of Procedure set out in the Annex to Council Decision 2009/937/EU Council Decision 2009/937/EU of 1 December 2009 adopting the Council’s Rules of Procedure (OJ L 325, 11.12.2009, p. 35). , the establishment of a Working Party on Defence Industry (DIWP) as a preparatory body of the Foreign Affairs Council. (3) In light of the horizontal nature of the DIWP and its responsibilities for legislative acts, it should be added to category 3 of the preparatory bodies of the Foreign Affairs Council, and provision should be made for the DIWP to be chaired by the six-monthly Presidency. (4) Annex II to Decision 2009/908/EU should therefore be amended accordingly, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Annex II to Decision 2009/908/EU is amended as follows: (1) in the first paragraph, point 3, the following indent is added: — Working Party on Defence Industry (DIWP). ; (2) in the table, point 3, the following row is added: Working Party on Defence Industry (DIWP).

Article 2
