European Council Decision (EU) 2026/755 of 20 March 2026 appointing the Vice-President of the European Central Bank THE EUROPEAN COUNCIL, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Article 283(2) thereof, Having regard to the Council Recommendation of 26 January 2026 on the appointment of the Vice-President of the European Central Bank OJ C, C/2026/707, 28.1.2026, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/C/2026/707/oj. , Having regard to the opinion of the European Parliament Opinion of 10 March 2026 (not yet published in the Official Journal). , Having regard to the opinion of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank Opinion of 25 February 2026 (OJ C, C/2026/1307, 2.3.2026, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/C/2026/1307/oj). , Whereas: (1) In accordance with European Council Decision (EU) 2018/509 European Council Decision (EU) 2018/509 of 22 March 2018 appointing the Vice-President of the European Central Bank (OJ L 83, 27.3.2018, p. 15, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2018/509/oj). , the term of office of Mr Luis DE GUINDOS JURADO, Vice-President of the European Central Bank, expires on 31 May 2026. It is therefore necessary to appoint a new Vice-President of the European Central Bank. (2) It is appropriate for the European Council to appoint Mr Boris VUJČIĆ, who fulfils all the requirements set out in Article 283(2) of the Treaty, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Mr Boris VUJČIĆ is hereby appointed Vice-President of the European Central Bank for a term of office of eight years as from 1 June 2026.

Article 2
