Political and Security Committee Decision (CFSP) 2026/925 of 21 April 2026 extending the mandate of the Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq) (EUAM Iraq/1/2026) THE POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 38, third paragraph, thereof, Having regard to Council Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869 of 16 October 2017 on the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq) OJ L 266, 17.10.2017, p. 12, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2017/1869/oj. , and in particular Article 9(1) thereof, Whereas: (1) Pursuant to Article 9(1) of Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869, the Political and Security Committee (PSC) is authorised, in accordance with Article 38, third paragraph, of the Treaty, to take the relevant decisions for the purpose of exercising political control and strategic direction of the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq), including the decision to appoint a Head of Mission, upon a proposal of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. (2) On 8 July 2025, the PSC adopted Decision (CFSP) 2025/1394 Political and Security Committee Decision (CFSP) 2025/1394 of 8 July 2025 on the appointment of the Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq) (EUAM Iraq/2/2025) (OJ L, 2025/1394, 10.7.2025, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2025/1394/oj). , appointing Mr Ralf SCHRÖDER as Head of Mission of EUAM Iraq from 16 August 2025 to 30 April 2026. (3) On 30 March 2026, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy proposed to extend the mandate of Mr Ralf SCHRÖDER as Head of Mission of EUAM Iraq from 1 May 2026 to 31 October 2026. (4) On 21 April 2026, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2026/902 Council Decision (CFSP) 2026/902 of 21 April 2026 amending Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869 on the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq) (OJ L, 2026/902, 22.4.2026, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2026/902/oj). , amending Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869 and extending the mandate of EUAM Iraq from 1 May 2026 to 31 October 2026, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The mandate of Mr Ralf SCHRÖDER as Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq) is extended from 1 May 2026 to 31 October 2026.

Article 2
