Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/835 of 15 April 2026 cancelling the Union authorisation for the biocidal product family SICO Biocidal Product Family in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2205 (Text with EEA relevance) THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, Having regard to Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2012 concerning the making available on the market and use of biocidal products OJ L 167, 27.6.2012, p. 1, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2012/528/oj. , and in particular Article 49 thereof, Whereas: (1) On 4 September 2024, Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2205 Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2205 of 4 September 2024 granting a Union authorisation for the biocidal product family SICO Biocidal Product Family in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (OJ L, 2024/2205, 5.9.2024, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg_impl/2024/2205/oj). granted a Union authorisation with the authorisation number EU-0029486-0000 to the authorisation holder SICO for the making available on the market and use of the same biocidal product family SICO Biocidal Product Family in accordance with Article 44(5), first subparagraph, of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012. (2) On 19 December 2025, SICO submitted to the European Chemicals Agency (the Agency) a request to cancel that Union authorisation in accordance with Article 49 of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012. The request was recorded under case number BC-RS113426-19 in the Register for Biocidal Products. SICO also submitted a reasoning for the request for cancellation, providing that it had decided to discontinue the production of products included in the family SICO Biocidal Product Family based on commercial considerations. (3) On 7 January 2026, the Agency forwarded the reasoned request to the Commission. (4) It is therefore appropriate to cancel the Union authorisation for the biocidal product family SICO Biocidal Product Family at the reasoned request of the authorisation holder and consequently to repeal Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2205. (5) It is also appropriate to grant a period of grace for the making available on the market and the use of the existing stocks of SICO Biocidal Product Family, in accordance with Article 52 of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012, HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

Article 1

The Union authorisation for the biocidal product family SICO Biocidal Product Family granted by Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2205 to SICO with the authorisation number EU-0029486-0000 is cancelled.

Article 2

Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2205 is repealed.

Article 3

The biocidal products of the family SICO Biocidal Product Family shall no longer be made available on the market from 2 November 2026 and existing stocks of such biocidal products shall no longer be used from 1 May 2027.
